Today, I saw a quote on Twitter, and it fascinated. The quote read, "The Bad News : You cannot make people like, love, understand, validate, accept, or be nice to you. Good news is : It doesn't matter." This was very interesting to me, because everyday people try continuously to make people love them. However, one cannot control the thoughts, and hearts of others. If being yourself isn't enough for someone to care for you unconditionally, they are someone you don't need in your life. One needs someone who is going to not change you, but help you to embrace who you are, and become the best you possible. Not everyone will see the good in you, not everyone will even make an effort.
Although you can't make people feel certain ways, it does not matter, and is not a reflection of who and what you are. All that matters is that you love, like, understand, validate, accept, and are nice to yourself. You cannot depend on others to make you happy, therefore you find it within yourself. It does not matter what other people feel about you, it is only what you feel for yourself, and what you believe. Everyone looks for comfort in others, however you cannot let the absence of other peoples effort make you feel bad. It doesn't matter that you can't make people feel certain things, because at the end of the day all you have is yourself. People will not always be there to comfort and understand you so do for yourself.
Sometimes no matter how hard you try you cannot stop people from being cruel. You just have to find people that a comfortable with who you are, and that will not happen until you are comfortable with yourself. All you can do is show yourself, and it is up to that person to decide how they want to see you and treat you. It doesn't matter that you can't make people love you, because you shouldn't have to force or try to make someone feel a certain way about you. If you need to try, you are either trying too hard, and making things impossible for yourself, or those people do not deserve to be in your life.
I agree with your way of analyzing the quote. You made a lot of good points that people just fail to realize nowadays. I like how you showed that the quote is actually very positive and can help others.
